Thank you Jingle and Company and all those who nominated me for this award!
As part of my acceptance, I nominate Liveonimpulse for next week’s award and offer a lighthearted haiku:
Feisty kitten leaps
attacking dog who turns and
growls her discontentment.

For next week’s rally I nominate dragonkatet
A feather blocks light.
The worm writhes in agony.
A bird chirps content.

Check it out. I received the Poet of the Year Award for 2010. Congratulations to the other winners and runners-up. Thanks to all of you who voted for me. I feel really privileged. The recognition is nice. A special thanks as well to Jingle, who devotes hours of her time coordinating the Poets Rally and tallying votes. Jingle, you do a great job.
My prize: a gorgeous virtual car!
Thanks Jingle for the award! In celebration, I offer a poem:
A Love Poem
Your softness sends shivers up my spine.
You promise me fulfillment
and sweet memories for days to come.
I anticipate you with every waking breath.
I ache with undying desire.
You are my love
and my dream,
oh coconut cream
Haha! What did you think I was talking about love between a man and a woman? Nah, I’m not that kind of poet. 🙂
For Week 35, I nominate Fyodor Lewis
A great big thanks to those who voted for me, and to Jingle for putting the Poet’s Rally together. There is a whole lot of talent out there, and it is so enjoyable to read everyone’s work each week. So fellow poets, Rally on!
